Tips on improving your health

Aquatic physiotherapy, or hydrotherapy, is exercise performed in a heated pool. There are numerous therapeutic benefits to exercising in warm water including decreasing pain, lessening muscle tension, increasing circulation, improving balance and stability, increasing muscular strength and endurance, maintaining fitness and providing early rehabilitation following injury or surgery.

A water environment supports an individual while generating resistance to develop stability, strength and balance.

Varying the depth at which exercise is performed changes the amount of weight bearing exerted on lower limbs, spine and hip.

Conditions that benefit from hydrotherapy are neck and back pain, arthritis, sports injuries, neurological conditions, work related injuries, whiplash, shoulder and arm pain, tendinopathy and rehabilitation following surgery.
